After the intitial Alloy Walker left the yard here at bmi bound for Bedfordshire, more are following in their footsteps.
The trailer which is fitted with the renowned KEITH® WALKING FLOOR® V-FLOOR® system and this particular model has internal wear plates on the side walls and the 19mm variant of the high impact floor system. As with all bmi builds a fair amount of innovation has gone into this trailer especially with regard to keeping the weight to a minimum. The approximate weight of the trailer is 10,100kgs, which with a 8,750kgs tractor unit, this gives an approximate legal payload of 25,000kgs.
Other features include a manual ½ net sheeting system, barn doors fitted with heavy duty double locking bars and an all steel rear frame.
The moving floor system has been popular in mainland Europe for some time now and is becoming more prevalent in British Isles also and now, with the UK and Ireland’s premier trailer manufacturer involved, that trend looks set to continue.
