The bmi Group have once again pulled out all the stops to meet a customer’s highly specific requirements. When asked to build a trailer than could transport not only general waste but also, if required, organic food waste, the R & D unit here in Dungannon went into overdrive. The result was the first bmi leak proof Ejector Trailer.
Built with escape holes feeding to a tank mounted underneath the rear of the trailer, any leachate coming from the food waste is conveniently caught in the tank where it can be disposed of later, in the correct way. This ensures that no liquid from the load is escaping and polluting the loading area or the highways.
The trailer can be rear-end self loading or top loading and is flexible enough to allow transport of general or food waste. This model, now in operation in Malta, is based on the standard 110 Yd. bmi Ejector and in addition to the leachate capture tank has also been modified to reduce the amount of odour escaping whilst being loaded, transported or emptied.
This is yet another exciting bmi innovation set to rock not only the trailer market but also the way that organic food waste can be collected, loaded and transported.
