Bmi is seeking to recruit an experienced Production Manager to oversee the management and delivery of sustainable output targets through good people management and process implementation.
Tasks:
- Creating Production flow plans and schedules for weekly output
- Managing the entire production team
- Liaising with other department to achieve common goals, targets and best practise
- Managing budgets on labour hours/overtime and consumables usage
- Liaising with HR to maintain adequate staff levels to meet set output targets
- Setting production targets in line with Sales requirement
- Enforcing H&S precautions and policies and general compliance of company standards
- Driving the production process with an eye to LEAN principles for continuous improvement
- Negotiating and managing direct staff contracts
- Assist with setting quality standards and working to these standards
- Data collection for costing analysis to measure and improve efficiencies
- Motivating and creating a positive work environment and culture
- Oversee the general housekeeping of all production areas
Working in collaboration with:
- Engineering department
- Stores and Purchasing
- Sales and Accounts
- HR, pay roll and H&S
Reporting to:
Operations manager
Requirements:
Previous experience in managing a large fast-paced production team essential Previous experience in overseeing employee relations in collaboration with HR.
The person will be:
- Action orientated with a drive for results
- A good delegator with a proven track record in motivating a team to achieve KPIs
